Work Flow for Wellness
The Centers for Disease Control lists the following four components of a successful wellness program:
Organizational Culture and Leadership
- Encourage workers at all levels, from senior leadership to middle management to workers, to not only participate but to also encourage participation in others.
Program Design
- Be clear and consistent about goals and adapt the program to suit your company. Offer incentives, ensure confidentiality and don’t be afraid to evolve and make adjustments.
Program Implementation
- Start small and grow over time. Allocate adequate resources in terms of staff, space and time. Communicate goals initially and give periodic updates, encourage accountability and reward success.
Program Evaluation
- Establish baselines and measure and record data systematically.
